Quick Trip to Omaha Feb '09

I got the chance to go out to Omaha to help Alicia and Jerry out from 2/19 thru 2/22/09. Jerry has been very sick (the last diagnosis is ulcerated colitis) and was put in the hospital. My main goal was to help her with the kids and around the house so she could spend as much time as possible at the hospital. As with everything else, there are God's blessings to be found in every situation. I have never gotten the chance to spend alone time with Alayna and Jared, so it was nice to have close to 4 days just hanging out with them in their home environment. I was able to watch Alayna open the birthday package that I had mailed from Indiana. The photo shows her modeling that present, a gymnastics leotard (matching Nike running suit not shown). I think it is safe to say that Alayna loved her present!!! I love the pic of Alayna and Jared. She was trying to pose and Jared thought she was tickling him!!! TOO CUTE! I love my Nebraska niece and nephew! On the Jerry front, he is feeling much better and has been home from the hospital for over a week now. Thank God for family and the chance to help each other out when life hands us a tough blow!

10 Year Anniversary 2.13.09

Chad and I celebrated our 10 year wedding anniversary this year. Chad (a non-flower guy!) sent me 10 red roses for our special day. He has needed a new wedding band for quite awhile so that was my present for him. I can't believe it has been 10 years. Now, when I look at our wedding photos we look so young!!! I think it is quite an accomplishment to hit the 10 year mark and to still be counting!

Movie Review: He's Just Not That Into You

I went to see this movie yesterday with my good friend, Tina. I laughed outloud several times! I love several people that are in it and I wasn't disappointed. I would watch it again. Grab your best gal pal and go see this movie!!!

The unveiling of the IPFW jersey Feb.2009

Mike, Britt, Clay and I went to the IPFW game last night. Mostly to cheer on Trey but to also show off Clay's replica jersey. We had it made for Clay's bday and it is just like Trey's including IPFW & # 44 on the front and McCorkle & #44 on the back. Although we have texted some pics to Trey, this was the 1st time Trey got to see Clay wearing it. I am not sure who smiled more-Clay or Trey!!!

The kids giving Trey high five after the game (which IPFW won by the way!).
Clay got an IPFW basketball and Britt got an IPFW water bottle and we had Trey autograph them after the game!

While we were waiting to talk to Trey after the game, the kids played on the court. Nice defense Clay!!! Maybe one day I will figure out how to shoot motion pics on my camera!?!?!

Prayer Request Workman Family

A Rushville family lost their 8 yr old son, Alex this past Sunday in a snowmobile accident. Please pray for the parents-Angie and Rob and the rest of their family. I cannot imagine what they are going thru or what the days to come will bring for them during such a tragedy. I have also been told that several children that went to school with Alex are having trouble losing their friend. Please keep the entire community in your prayers. THANKS!

The Winter Blues

I honestly can't remember a winter that I was more tired of!! I don't normally make it a habit of wishing time away but this year I could totally skip to mid-Spring ASAP! Maybe it is because I have been sick this year-a cold/sinus infection that lasted most of December and into January and I now have another cold that started last week. Maybe it is the blasts of cold temperatures, the inches of snow, etc. I do know that I might be the most excited in our house to go to Florida in March. I seriously can't wait. I have even contemplated making one of those chain links made out of paper rings. Removing a ring once the day is passed. I remember making them in elementary school for Christmas. I am ready to be warm and stay warm for several days!!! Anyone with me???

Britt Cheer Clinic January 09

Britt participated in a cheer clinic this past week. Here are some pics from her night of cheering at the OH girls game on Saturday night. She really loves cheering and had a good time learning the cheers and the dance. Brittany is such a beautiful girl-even if Daddy thought the bow was as big as her head!
