Spring Break March 2010 Part 3

Wednesday we headed to Orlando to Universal Studios.

this was a ride comparable to teacups at Disney-so much fun!
Clay in front of the Hulk car-check out the hair by the windshield!  the sides had Hulk hands sticking out
Clay posed with one of the Super Heroes (seriously, none of us knew who this was???!!!)
3-D Spiderman ride
this picture of the boys in front of the t-rex is too precious, much like Chad and Cam these boys are friends for life!
Dr. Seus land
this is the 1 ride that Sandi rode, the workers promised no spinning, no speed, etc.  well, let's just say that Sandi counted 3 full spins in this ride!
my camera was working really good during this ride, the fish told the story of Thing 1 and Thing 2
Poor Clay posing in the late afternoon sun but I had to get a picture of him in front of this ride.  This was the 1st book that Clay read to me from cover to cover by himself!
Chad still very much injured (he even drove a scooter around Universal) couldn't pass up a chance to shoot at the 3 point contest in front of NBA City.  Chad won Clay a mini-ball and a virtual picture with LeBron James.  Clay was so proud!
Thursday and Friday the guys headed to CaddyShack Celebrity Golf Tournament that Bill Murray puts on every year.  Chad hung out with Cam for press stuff and Mike and Chad's Uncle Ernie played in the tournament.  Their celebrity was Chris Richardson (finalist from American Idol).  The guys had fun!  The ladies and the kids logged some more time on the beach!  The temps were better and it was nice to let the kids play and get some pics.
by far my favorite picture of the kids from this vacation
Sandi cannot be in the sunlight (fair complexion and her heart medicine makes her burn) so this is Sandi on the beach.  Honestly enjoying herself because she loves watching the waves!
Clay had gotten salt water in his eyes so Britt was leading Clay (who had his eyes closed) back up to get a beach towel, well just before he reached us I took this picture.  His eyes were open, so it looks like they were just holding hands!  Too cute!
Our final dinner in Florida was at Joe's Crab Shack on the beach.  The restaurant has a playground and picnic tables in the sand, so we opted to eat there.
such pretty girls!
by far, the best picture I have EVER taken of Colin!
Sandi getting ready to crack into her crab legs!
this was my melting pot of crab legs-YUMMY!  doesn't get much better than eating good seafood with my toes in the sand!
these lifeguard stands were sitting close to the restaurant (please ignore "KEEP OFF")
right before this picture we told the kids, "don't get your clothes wet, let's just get a few pictures."  Really, really, did we really think their clothes weren't going to get soaked?????
this picture is about boys being boys!  after Colin's pants getting totally soaked we said, "Go ahead!"
We were trying to get the kids to leave and it was just as hard getting Sandi to leave.  She wanted to find just 1 more shell!  We had a great vacation!  Thanks for letting us bum at your house for the week!

Spring Break March 2010 Part 2

On Tuesday we drove to St. Augustine, FL.  There were tons of cool shops and a fort!
Th fort was very cool and still in very good condition!
I hope you can read some of the history!
draw bridge
character that almost looked fake!
Clay was all over this gun!  I think he would have liked to carry it thru the fort!

Clay and Sandi behind bars!
I just loved this old door!  I would have taken it home with me!
the kids weren't too excited posing for these pics but gotta have pics for the blog!
this pic was taken from the top of the fort, as you can tell there are no safety rails/walls to prevent you from falling off the edge.  Clay made me more than nervous but it was cool how much the fort has been preserved.
This Irishman was in an alley along the shops. He had an amazing voice and sang "Old Chicago" when he saw Clay's Cubs shirt.
Go Carts!!!  Chad and Clay
Mike and Britt
Susie and Brooke
Cam and Colin
Chad and Britt
Susie and Clay

I am usually not a competitive person but the guys were dead set that they would always beat me.  I will give them that some of the carts are significantly slower than other carts, BUT I won 2 of the 3 races!  The last race I thought we were going to get kicked off the track because Cam and Chad were not only trying to pass me they were trying to wreck me!!!!  Let's just say, I walked away with some bragging rights!  HA!
