Carving Pumpkins!!!! October 2009

This year the kids wanted to carve pumpkins.  Britt was all about it, ready to get her hands dirty, and she wanted to do the carving.  I talked her out of the carving part but she designed her pumpkin's face.  Clay didn't want to participate at first but changed his mind once he realized how gross he could get his hands! 

At school Clay had a pumpkin day where they filled out a booklet all about pumpkin facts.  One page told him about making pumpkin seeds.  He tried some at school so here the kids are separating the seeds out so we could bake them.  They were very YUMMY!

Britt wanted happy, Clay wanted scary.  Clay was a little disappointed that I couldn't make "fire" shooting from his pumpkin's eyes!  I thought I did a good "mean" pumpkin!

Perfect God-created Sunrise 10.27.09

10.27.08 My Grandmother (Mama) passed away.  It was a very sad time for my family and for me!  She was the type of Grandma that took vacations to go places with us and to take us to the fair.  I miss her genuine smile that lit up her whole face and made her eyes twinkle!  On days with sunrises/sunsets that look as if the clouds of Heaven are touching us, I can't help but think of my loved ones that I have lost within the last few years.  My Grandma Freda, my Mom, my Mama, and most recently Chad's Grandma.  These were all very special ladies and I miss them.  I will take any opportunity, in this case a beautiful sunrise, to feel close to them! 

Halloween Party (adult) 10.24.09

Kurk and Brandy invited us to a Halloween party over the weekend.  It was so much fun!  The costumes were crazy!  Brandy was a go-go girl, Kurk was a scary joker!  Chad and I went as baseball coach and referee!  I know rather safe costumes but this was the 1st time we went to the party!

Kurk sat down and this dracula decoration kept hanging on him so he decided he was going to take a "bite" out of him!  We had a great time and we hope to get invited next year!  Not sure how I didn't get a pic of Chad and I together but if I can get a copy from someone I will post it!

Sara, the cat, is still wondering why we accepted another dog into our house.  She is just now allowing Coco to be near her.  I "caught" them not only sitting together but snoozing!  Too cute!

Today is my sweet mother-in-law's bday.  It is football Friday, so TX Roadhouse will not be in our plans for this evening but at least we will be together!!!

Report Cards October 2009

The kids did GREAT on their report cards. 

Brittany received 3 A+'s along with other A's and B's.  VERY PROUD!  Clay received 5 O's (=Outstanding) along with other S+'s.  VERY PROUD!  Honestly, the best report cards to date for our household!!!

I am SOOO bummed that I forgot to take a picture of our dinner last night.  Sandi invited us over for some yummy pork roast.  Brittany decided she wanted us to eat in the "new" kitchen.  So, I should have taken a picture of the 1st meal!!!!!  Shame on me for missing a great photo op!!  HA!  Oh well, let's move on to this week's pictures.  The "mudding" is complete and the guys start sanding tomorrow.

Miss Britt got GLASSES!!!! 10.12.09

I took Britt to the eye dr. a couple weeks ago.  I was already going and Britt has been complaining about not being able to see the chalkboard at school.  She is slightly near-sighted with a stigmatism.  We went down to get her glasses last night.  I think she looks so adorable in her new glasses!!!

Since we were in town Pam invited us for dinner along with Dad, Kenny, Mary, Morgan, and Kennedy.  We had to take a pic of Kennedy with her hair down!  We always see her in pigtails!!!  What a beautiful baby!!!
