Kenny Chesney Concert 9.19.09

Brittany and I made our annual trip to see Mr. Chesney this past Saturday night.  The highlight of the evening for me is that Kenny sang "Me and You" for the 1st time in 6 years.  I know the number of years because he told the audience he wanted to do a song that he has missed singing to the Indy crowd.  "Me and You" was a song that played at Chad and my wedding.  Kenny sounded GREAT and was in a good mood!  I have seen him enough times to know when he isn't up to par and he definitely was that night.

I didn't know that when I bought tickets I bought club seats.  At Lucas Oil they have the Baker Daniels Club, which entitled us to a special entrance, a private bathroom, our own concession stand/bar, and the lobby even had Colts carpet!

this is Brittany being impressed that the stall had individual lights!  TOO CUTE!  We had visited the normal bathrooms before we went to our seats so she said these made her feel extra special!

The security crew even went and got her ear plugs.  I thought you would be able to see them in this pic but not really!

Someone was nice enough to take our picture!  Maybe we do look a little alike!  Just not in coloring!

Sugarland, Zach Brown Band, Miranda Lambert, and Montgomery Gentry were great!  Sugarland is fabulous!  I saw them a couple years ago at Verizon before Kenny (imagine that?!?) and it was good to see them again!  Overall, Britt and I had a great time!  The night was beautiful so the roof was open and I really do think they fixed the sound problems.  Even in the Colts house, we had a BLAST!

Football Cheer Camp September 2009

Brittany went to fball cheer camp this past week, where they learned a couple cheers and a dance.  They performed their cheers/dance at the game on Friday night.  She takes her cheerleading very serious so she knew all the moves by heart!

some to the girls after their performance!!!

this kind of looks like a beauty queen pose to me, whose daughter is this???  ha!

Ellery and Lexie went to camp also!!!  Pretty girls!!!

My Kenny Chesney is not touring next year!!!!!!

As an avid Kenny Chesney fan, I have looked forward to this coming Saturday since last September (last year's concert). On 9/19/09 Britt and I will be attending the Kenny concert in Indy. It has become a mother/daughter tradition that we get down right giddy about!

Then, the announcement was made that Kenny needs some time off, needs some time to creatively reboot, and to have somewhat of a life outside of his career. As I am picking my jaw off the ground, I am telling myself, "it is fine, it is fine." I must say the last few years Kenny has sounded different during interviews, maybe even since the whole Renee Z. thing. He said he was sitting with Bruce Springsteen and Bruce put it very bluntly. As I paraphrase, Bruce told Kenny that you can write 1/2 a song, put it in a drawer for 5 years, and go back to it a it will still be there. Life isn't like that. It keeps going whether you take time to live it or not. I KNOW very compelling, right???? I must say I totally agree but I might just have a little bitterness toward Mr. Springsteen for taking away my chance to see Kenny once a year. My once a year event that is about me! Just me! My 1 day for the entire year that I let loose, that I not only sing outloud but I dance too! I DON'T do that, ever; except at Kenny concerts!!!! I feel the end of my tirade coming, so I will sum this up by saying-everyone including Kenny Chesney deserves to know and feel the happiness of coming home to a family, a spouse, maybe even children. Everyone deserves to have someone walk thru life with them and so far, Kenny hasn't had a partner to do just that with.

So, my message to Kenny is...I will be waiting to hear when you are creatively rebooted and ready to tour again. I will be waiting with my bells on (my dancing shoes too)!!!

Mike & Sandi's Remodel Update

Here are some pics I took 9/15/09 to show what progress the guys have made. They have been roofing most of this week but most of the "walls" are in place.

BIGGEST home-grown tomato we have ever had!

I have been tempted this past week to mow the tomato plants down. By this point Brittany is over watering the plants, picking the tomatoes, etc. I am so glad I didn't destroy the plants!!!!! LOOK at this big mama tomato!!!! Don't be hating the Bears' tape measure! I couldn't believe how big it was so I measured it and then I just had to seize the blogging opportunity!

Clay's 1st Sleepover (EVER!); Movie Review G-Force

Clay has been asking to have a buddy come over and spend the night. Saturday night Brittany was at a slumber party so we decided that was the night. It is amazing how much these boys look-a-like! We went to see G-Force at the movie theater with Sandi.
I thought G-Force was good! The boys LOVED it and they went thru tons of popcorn and slushies-it was nice to actually get my $ worth at the concession stand!

Start of Upward Football and Homecoming Parade/Days 9.12.09

Clay started his 2nd season of Upward flag football. He was moved up to the next level (1st-3rd graders with fball experience) and Clay was excited to hear that interceptions would now count! My day was split between Clay's football game and Brittany being in the Homecoming Days Parade with her softball All Star team. I am not good at missing ANY of my children's activities so I was under stress! I watched 1/2 of Clay's game then jumped in the car with Sandi and headed to the parade. Wouldn't you know that Clay caught an interception!?!?!!?!? SO EXCITING for Clay, but I missed it! Yes, his uniform is purple/gold, yes, that is Marion colors. Or in Clay's world Vikings' colors (not popular with Clay or my mother-in-law!). The colors are chosen by Upward and nation-wide.

3rd Grade Cross Country September 2009

Britt was in the 3rd grade cross country meet on Thursday 9.10.09. She came in 2nd in her class. Then she raced with the top 5 girls from each class (totaling 25 girls) and came in 3rd!! Congrats Britt! So proud of you!!!
Connor got 1st in his class and then came in 2nd out of the top 25 boys. I got a pic of his running form!!! Way to go Connor!!!

Fun at Aunt Pam & Uncle Jay's

A couple weekends ago my Dad, the kids, and I hung out at Pam and Jay's house. Pam had bought Twister for the kids. They had a BLAST! Pam also caught Clay "playing" with Lincoln's floor toy! Look how BIG my baby looks!

Pam also passed this pic to me to show the little guy enjoying his tummy time and holding his head up really well!?!?!!?!

Brittany lost another tooth! 9/8/09

I promise I won't take pics of every tooth Brittany loses but #2 was still very exciting in our house! HA! I can't tell you how many times I have seen my daughter's tongue the last 2 days! She is always sticking it out thru the gap!

Labor Day Visiting 09

After church on Sunday the kids and I went down to my sister, Deanna's. On Monday I got to see one of my dearest friends Stacey! Stacey brought her 2 kids over, Pam came up with Lincoln and Carole, Katie came over with Berkeley. It was quite a group but it was so nice to catch up with everyone! SO GREAT to see Stacey! I know that I was missing her but seeing her made me realize just how much I truly missed her!!!! I hope we can schedule another visit very soon!

Mike & Sandi's Remodel Summer/Fall 2009

Mike & Sandi, my in laws, are remodeling their house. I will try to post pics at various stages of the remodel. They are adding a full bath, relocating their laundry room, attaching the garage to the house, roofing the house/garage, updating the siding from aluminum to vinyl and adding some space to their kitchen. Was that a run-on sentence or what!?!?!?!! These pictures show the progress the guys have made!

Siding ripped off and in the middle of building the subfloor
