Football, Clay's excitement & My anxiety! 8.25.10

This is Clay's 1st football helmet.  I say 1st because I know the kid has football running in his veins instead of blood.  I know that Clay has an absolute love for the game that his Dad & his Papa Mike also have.  Clay is beyond happy to be playing tackle football this fall.  I really thought I had 1 more year to prepare myself for Clay playing tackle.  But, alas, my lovely husband was able to find a league for Clay to play in.  Clay was begging for this discovery but still, in the end it is all Chad's fault.  I didn't have anything to do with it.  Chad researched, made phone calls, took Clay to his tryout, etc.  I really thought they would look at my youngest child & say, "not this year, but maybe next year when you are a little bigger", at least that is how it went in my dreams!  I will be fine, Clay will be fine (I hope & pray!).  We went to pick up Clay's equipment last night.  The kid seriously couldn't contain his giddiness!  They put on his helmet, sized him for his shoulder pads, handed him some fball pants to slip on, gave us his pant pads, etc.  Meanwhile, Britt & I just stood there, still worrying about our little guy!  Once all the equipment was on, Clay didn't look so little anymore.  Everything fit well, so we headed to Meijer to pick up disinfecting supplies because seriously, someone else's sweat has been in this helmet, the same helmet that my child now wants to wear in the car while in his booster seat!  So, here's a picture of Clay's 1st football helmet that Clay, Daddy, & Papa Mike couldn't be prouder of!

Alayna & Hester August 2010

Not a very good picture of Hester, but Alayna's face says it all.  She loves our dogs!  I really think that Coco is her favorite but Coco won't hold still long enough for a picture so this pic with Hester will have to do.  Hester, my gentle giant, allowed Alayna to do whatever she wanted.  Alayna watched tv with Hester as her pillow more than once while she was here!  PRECIOUS!

Sunflowers, my happiness in a flower

I know that sunflowers are my absolute favorite, but seriously, can you deny the beauty of this picture?  I didn't think so!

Quick trip down to see Dad, babies, puppy, & a barn!!! August 2010

Brittany & I made a SUPER quick trip home to see my extended family!  1st stop was the local ice cream shop with Dad, Kenny, Mary, Kennedy, and Drew.  Britt, of course, wanted to hold Drew!
Here's Venus!  Kenny & Mary's puppy (that is a sister to Pam & Jay's puppy) has such a sweet personality & HUGE feet!

Kenny & Mary are under construction at their house, a new barn!
Britt got to spend the day with Pam, Jay, & Lincoln on Saturday while I got some things done at Dad's.  I think Lincoln enjoyed having a playmate!

Brittany & Clay are both on a mission for me to have another baby, and they would prefer the baby to be a boy.  These pictures show how much Brittany would LOVE to have a baby in our house!  Chad & I, however, are not on board with their plans!

1st Day of School 8.10.10 Brittany 4th Grade Clay 2nd Grade

Britt's 1st day of school outfit was all about fashion, as in fashion from the Justice store.  She was very excited that she was Justice from head to toe (including the messenger bag and flip flops!).  The messenger bag is so big that you can't even see her cute jean skirt!
Clay wanted basketball clothes from top to bottom, of course!  This is his 1st Puma outfit, Clay loves cheetahs so he thinks the Puma brand is close enough to his favorite animal!

Can't believe the kids are in 4th and 2nd grade!  I always take the kids to school the 1st day, but not this year!  Brittany was asked to ride with a friend and Clay said, "Why, Mom?  I've been here before!".  This is Clay's 3rd year at this school so he was right!  Next year will be a bigger adjustment Brittany heads to a new school building & so does Clay, maybe next year they will let me take them to school!  HA!
here's a cute picture of Clay from another 2nd grader's mom (thanks-Barb!)

Softball All Stars July-August 2010

All Stars are over (at least for this summer!).  The girls played good but came up short so we finished our tournament on Saturday.  This tournament hosted a skills contest-furthest throw, furthest hit, and speed around the bases.  Brittany & Kristen were able to participate in the speed category.  They didn't win but they had a good time trying!
Alayna is staying with Mike & Sandi for a couple weeks so we dressed her up in Britt's uniform from last year!  Look how cute she is!?!!?!?!
Brittany was voted the MVP for our team for this tournament.  The umpires chose a girl from each team that showed character, ability, & overall good sportsmanship!  Brittany was very excited and this Mom was very proud!!!!

Quick Visit with Family 7.30.10

Look how big Drew has gotten!!!  This picture he was laughing!  ADORABLE!
Miss Britt loves her baby cousin
Kennedy would stop playing to come over & kiss her brother Drew!  Very sweet!
Dad has always liked when babies can hold their heads up by themselves, so Dad & Drew were showing off Drew's balance abilities!
